This was a 1 week trip, 4 days at the school and 3 days safari. It was a nice mix because on the one hand doing volunteer work is very rewarding, on the other hand if you travel all the way to Tanzania you do want see the wildlife. The school itself was very remote. Most of the villagers were still living in mud and thatch huts. There were 16 participants and we poured a concrete floor, built desks, re-painted 2 rooms and re-painted the chalk boards. It was gratifying to see the entire before and after effect and know exactly how we were able to contribute. I recommend it to anyone who is willing to have fun while getting a little dirt under the fingernails.
